Jan Reichmann works mostly as an abstract artist.
Her inspirations derive from land and seascapes, both of which enable her to embrace her passion of colour and mark making. Her fascination lies in the colour and shape of what she observes in front of her, together with the texture of visual surfaces. She freely interprets those images into colourful, visceral statements which she hopes will engage the viewer, excite and please.
Jan also has a love of life drawing and portraiture, disciplines which she feels effectively balance her work with abstract landscapes - the contours of both face and figure being equally challenging and exciting.
Printmaking - monoprints in particular - is another facet of her work, and digital photography is becoming increasingly a new influence
